B.Psych(Hons), B.Ed.

I help people between the ages of 9 to 90 who are struggling with symptoms of anxiety and depression. This includes symptoms that arise as a result of having to adjust to life transitions such as sustaining significant injuries, chronic pain, retirement, transitioning from school to work and those experiencing the breakdown of the family unit.

Personally, growing up as a child I wasn’t academically strong, which was pretty tough. Later I found out that it was due to auditory processing issues. Realising that many others might also have such processing difficulties, I decided to use my lived experience with this to become and be a Psychologist that could deliver mental health support in a way that would be easier to understand and implement for my clients, meaning they get better sooner.

Having first-hand experience that we all learn and process things differently, I have become known for my creative approach by being able to adapt what I do as a Psychologist in order to fit each person’s individual learning styles, age and interests.

My formal training and approaches include, but are not limited to, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Solutions Based Therapy, Exposure Therapy and Motivational Interviewing.

In my time as a Psychologist, I have worked in schools, hospitals, outpatient clinics, and community disability, youth organisations and private practice.

When not helping my clients, I am a crazy soccer mum, who loves gardening and walking my 3 dogs down at the beach.

At the end of the day, I remain motivated by the core belief that once you have taken the time to say say yes to working on your mental health, that you will be empowered with life-long skills to help you live the life you deserve.
